We've forgotten the cheese Gromit!

Wallace and Gromit is a classic cartoon created by Nick Park and begins as a simple sketch like this one.  Line is being used to draw the viewer’s eye from all edges of the sketch to the main point at the train crossing.  Perpendicular lines keep the eye moving around the entire sketch.  Hatching is used in the background and in the shading of areas like the train; there is also use of cross hatching in the chair and the dog's ears.  Also with the use of hatching, this creates different shades and values which adds dimension to the sketch.
