Unity and Variety

In this print there are many aspects of unity.  There is a consistent shade of brown in many of the negative spaces of the picture.  The shapes also provide a sense of unity to the painting.  There are similar and repeated shapes as well as many of the similar shapes share similar colors.  The use of line also creates unity, the horizontal lines in the center of the print.  There is also variety in this work as well; there are different shades and tints of colors given to the similar shapes.  And while the colors also provide unity they also show variety.  The pop of yellow is an example of this.
